Quiet relaxing qualitly break Quiet, peaceful break at this lovely hotel. Although not as luxurious as other dedicated spas (nor near as expensive) it was also a lot less busy. I had use of the spa, sauna, steam room and pool to myself most of the day. The food (which was included) was substantial and excellent. Similarly, the treatments were as good as expected from a spa day and great value as well. The leisure area did lack a suitable place to sit and read or nap - there seemed to be only poolside (quite strong chlorine smell as you would expect) and health club foyer area - where there were people coming and going to the gym and TV on. However, my morning was spent using the pool facilities, and my afternoon having treatments, so this was not a problem. I would not have been able to afford the same itinerary at a dedicated spa so would have needed a space to read!! All staff were professional and friendly. |

good but not cosy Three old friends met up at Thatcham as it was equidistant from our homes (an hour and a half each)The staff were very friendly and our treatments, with 3 different therapists, were all excellent, the timing of the treatments was good except we could not use the pool etc afterwards due to the oils and nail polish!. The pool was lovely and the changing rooms etc were all clean and in good condition. The sauna was not working but the steam room was. Lunch was brought across from the hotel and was good but we ate it in the spa reception lounge which was chilly and I felt I was in a very public place in my towelling robe. There was no where cosy to sit after lunch or after our treatments and on a cold wet November day sitting next to the windows round the pool especially after dark was not inviting. As our reason for the visit was Spa and chat we were slightly disappointed |

Perfect Day I took my daughter to the Regency Park Hotel as a treat, I had never been to a Spa day before, but can only say we had a lovely time. It was raining outside, but it was it felt warm and sunny by the pool, it felt like being on holiday! The Hotel is very clean and obviously well cared for, the lunch was delicious, and even though we had more than enough to eat, were offered more. The treatments were wonderful, and the therapists we had were very professional, but also down to earth, and made us feel special too! I am looking forward to my next day out.... just got to save up for it. |

Very relaxing Mother & daughter spa day was lovely. We were well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed the pampering. Choice of food was good and of a high quality. Staff friendly and helpful. Slight problem forcing staff to temporarily close the Jacuzzi did not affect our enjoyment. |

Fantastic day This was a treat on my daughters 18th birthday. We had an absolutely fantastic day, could not have wished for better. Staff so helpful and friendly and lovely lunch to. Felt thoroughly spoilt and we would both love to do it again. |

Pleasantly surprised This is something I'd never thought I personally would like, so very pleasantly surprised when I did. A friend treated me for my 60th for your Mother and Daughter Spa Day. We chose a local one, The Regency Park Hotel, Thatcham, Berkshire. Eventually after a few phone calls to get to the Spa Seekers section to book the day, I managed to get a very helpful lady, and then all sorted. I thought it might be a boring day but when we got there, they welcomed us with smiles and produced the schedule of the day, we also asked for extra treatments. Then shown around the Spa and hotel and all very efficiently done with a smile. Not fancying the machine drinks, we went into the hotel for coffee before starting our day of pampering. The pool was very clean and inviting, then the sauna which my friend had never experienced but has now learnt not to put so much water on the coals. Got my own back when I said we had to then have a cold shower to close the pores, few shrieks then! The lunch was adequate although my friend's was luke warm, we didn't bother to say anything, as not wanting to spoil the day. Treatments all went to par, and very relaxing. Over all a lovely experience which I can recommend. |

Spa Treat I arrived at 9.45 and was taken to the treatment room by my therapist. She was pleasant, but not particularly friendly or chatty. I had a full body massage which was very good, and a facial which was enjoyable. However, she didn't tell me about the products she was using or what the benefits were. The room was actually quite cold; about an hour into the treatment, I felt warm air blowing through the heater above the treatment bed, but, sadly, that only lasted for about ten minutes. My massage and facial lasted about 2 hours. I have to say that I was disappointed as the treatment I had last year was more enjoyable. I was taken to another therapist (the one who had treated me last time) for my manicure and enjoyed that experience so much more. She was very friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed my manicure. However, even though I was disappointed with the massage and facial, I did feel very relaxed and would recommend the treatments again. Should I be lucky enough to visit the Spa again, I would make sure that I specified who I would like to treat me in future. |
