beautifully spoilt and pampered This was a birthday treat for my mum we both enjoyed. We felt very spoilt from the minute we stepped in the doors of the hotel. The staff couldn\'t do enough for us, the room was lovely (I particularly liked the shower) The food and service both in the restaurant and at breakfast was exceptional. The spa was wonderful, we spent 2 days of complete relaxation. The heat and cold areas were both relaxing and invigorating. The swimming pool area with its soft lighting and background sounds transported you to somewhere tropical whilst we laid on the loungers reading our books.Treatment wise we chose a facial. This was done in a lovely relaxing environment. I found myself drifting off and relaxing like I hadn\'t done for a long time. The staff in the spa area seem to have it right in terms of when to talk and when to be quiet.I have already recommended this spa and we will definitely come again. Superb service and treatments We spent a day at the Mercure St Pauls Hotel and Spa in Sheffield for a mini pamper day. The hotel was particularly busy as they were hosting a large conference. However, the service we received in the spa was superb and not in any way compromised by the fact it was obviously a hectic time for the hotel. We were able to eat our lunch in the main bar area with our partners before returning to the spa for our three treatments. All treatments were conducted in clean, attractive and calm surroundings and after the treatments we were able to use the relaxation room with refreshments. My Relaxing Birthday Treat. I WON A MINI PAMPER DAY EXPERIENCE, AND I DECIDED TO USE IT FOR MY BIRTHDAY. WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE SPA, THE RECEPTIONIST WAS WELCOMING AND EXPLAINED WHAT MY DAY INCLUDED, I HAD FULL USE OF THE SWIMMING POOL, SAUNA, STEAM ROOM AND GYM. TO WHICH SHE THEN GAVE ME A ROBE AND SLIPPERS. I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE AND AT EASE. MY FIRST TREATMENT WAS A MANICURE AND A HAND MASSAGE, WHICH WAS EXCELENT. I THEN HAD A NECK, SHOULDER AND BACK MASSAGE AND A FACIAL WHICH LASTED ONE HOUR, I FELT SO RELAXED AND INVIGORATED. THERE WAS ALSO A CHILL ROOM WHICH WAS DARK WITH ONLY CANDLES FOR LIGHT; I RELAXED IN THERE FOR 20 MINS BEFORE THEN HAVING LUNCH IN THE RESTAURANT, WHICH WAS BEAUTIFUL. I CHOSE A CHEESE AND HAM PANINI, WITH SALAD WHICH WAS DIVINE. MY DAY HAD COME TO AN END BY NOW AND I LEFT FEELING SO REFRESHED AND RELAXED AND I AM ALREADY PLANNING TO RETURN, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS SPA. Enjoyable, relaxing visit I would definitely use the spa again, staff was friendly and helpful, massage and facial were both amazing, very relaxing and just what the doctor ordered after a hectic few weeks at work. The facilities were modern and clean, excellent.The only slight downfall in service was at lunchtime when our order took a very long time to come and one of our party had to rush it to get to a treatment. A bit of a let down Upon arrival we were not given much information on our spa, when we booked into the spa reception we were not advised that we needed gowns in order to walk around the pool area - which was very cold, the water temperature was cold, the changing rooms were unbearably cold, and the towels were poor quality. The steam room was under temperature and we\'d hoped that there was a Jacuzzi. Unfortunately the food was a little disappointing in that the menu was sparse and as we\'d booked a later table (as we were advised they were very busy) there was not a lot of choice when we came to eat. The hotel however was a pleasant hotel but unfortunately it wasn\'t quite unto the \"spa experience\" we\'d hoped for. Absolutley Fabulous Our day at the Spa was excellent. The treatments were amongst the best I have ever had and the staff was so lovely. They were all very friendly and so helpful but still maintained a very professional approach with the treatments, which were second to none may I add. They could not do enough to make your day both comfortable and relaxed and most of all enjoyable. The facilities are excellent, very clean and well maintained and the meal in the restaurant was superb the only draw back being that you had to get changed into your day clothes to go in the restaurant. My daughter and I will definitely be revisiting the Spa and next time we will know what to expect and hopefully enjoy it even more.
