Quiet and tranquil, this lovely little spa is great for a bit of me time on the south coast.
The hotel isn't far from the town centre and the spa is gorgeous.
As well as the usual things you'd expect to find in a spa, the pools, sauna and more, there's a fabulous aromatherapy cave to chill out in, and you won't be disappointed at all with the beauty rooms as there's everything from Jessica nails, Dermalogica, Aromatherapeutics and St Tropez tanning on offer.
You just have to visit the fitness area, too, it's set in a glass house and features 'Barney', the resident banana plant!

The Hallmark Hotel and Spa is located in a tranquil green belt area of Bournemouth’s West Cliff, within easy walking distance of the town centre and sandy beaches, and is just a few minutes away from the Bournemouth International Centre. Our beauty suite in the Health Spa provides a full range of treatments from Dermalogica, Jessica, St Tropez and Aromatherapeutics products, to include facial, massage and body treatments, which can be taken individually or presented in a fully inclusive package including the Spa Seekers range. The Health Spa centres on relaxation, children are not permitted, and relaxation areas are provided in addition to saunas, steam rooms, spa pools, ice zone and showers, and the aromatherapy cave. The aim is to ensure rejuvenation of both mind and body, emerging relaxed and ready for the next of life’s challenges!Fitness
The Fitness Centre incorporates a large swimming pool set in a glass house with full width doors opening on to the garden and patio, and a cardio-vascular gymnasium and fitness centre with the latest in exercise equipment. Motivation comes in the form of two plasma screens offering multi channel viewing including sky sports. The Fitness Centre is a new complex completed in 2004, with comprehensive changing facilities a relaxation area around the pool, and adorned by Barney, the banana plant (please do not pick the fruit)!Cuisine
There is an excellent range of venues for eating and drinking, providing a broad and imaginative choice to suit the needs of every guest, during both normal hours and on 24 hour service. The Coffee Shop and Bistro provides light buffet lunches, extensive salad bar and a range of freshly cooked baguettes and toasties, while the Starlight Restaurant with its RAC Dining Award offers superb evening meals, and is also air conditioned for hot summers.Local attractions
There is plenty of space in and around the Hallmark Hotel & Spa to relax and unwind without setting foot outside, but for local interest, apart from miles of glorious sand, Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch provide a vast range of leisure activities, both water and land based. In need of a refurb. The hotel had very recently changed it's name to the Hallmark Hotel and is currently undergoing refurbishment. This meant it was very difficult to find. Sadly the spa has not been refurbished. The spa area appeared to be quite old. Tiles were missing on seats in the steam room and the pool area was very dirty - mould on the ceilings and around the edge of the pool. The floor area was very dirty in places too. I understand they are hoping to refurbish the spa next year - the sooner the better. My "light Lunch"" was huge and tasty. This was served in the hotel bar where I felt a little uncomfortable in my white robe! The staff there were excellent as were the treatments - full body massage |
