The Devonshire Health Club is housed in a converted listed barn opposite the luxurious Devonshire Arms Country House Hotel on the 30,000 acre Bolton Abbey Estate in the Yorkshire Dales owned by the Duke of Devonshire. The Club is primarily for the private use of hotel guests and day spa visitors and remains a quiet haven for relaxation and rejuvenation. The professional staff are friendly and welcoming - the ethos is all about quality of service and care. The hotel opposite is a traditional coaching inn built in the late 17th century adapted to the 21st century market providing exquisite Michelin food and wines in a beautiful unexploited location. It has 40 bedrooms, two restaurants – the Michelin starred Burlington Restaurant and The Devonshire Brasserie and Bar – exclusive conference and private dining facilities, outside catering company and a sister hotel, The Devonshire Fell at Burnsall.
The Hotel’s and Club’s location on the Bolton Abbey Estate provides guests with a wonderful countryside playground with over 80 miles of footpaths and trails, seven miles of river (excellent for trout fishing) and the attraction of the church and ruins of a 12th century Augustinian priory which celebrated its 850th anniversary in 2004.
