a bit disappointing There was nobody to greet me on arrival. The furniture in the spa reception was a little worn.This reception was also locked during the day to accommodate corporate events in the hotel, so this reduced the amount of seating area (the only place to sit was around the swimming pool) and hot drinks could not be had, although a member of staff offered to get a drink for us.We chose a lunch from a set menu, but this was not as well presented as other people in the restaurant ordering the same thing.In particular, I ordered a fruit salad which was just apple and melon, but watched as some other lady ordered the same, and hers was topped with strawberries. The music from outside the treatment room was as loud as the relaxing music from inside the room.The staff were polite and helpful and the massage was good. Invigorating I had a fantastic back and shoulder massage from a very sweet therapist. I was given a choice of treatments but the times were allocated. That was not really a problem but it would have been nice to have had a choice of times. The spa area was very well organised although I was disappointed with the standard of cleanliness in the changing room. Felt the other staff in the spa area could have done more to keep the place tidy of surplus cups, plates and generally keep loo rolls stocked up. It was also a pity that the pool was too cold to enjoy more than a quick paddle. Overall, it was a nice experience and I would recommend it to others. I was particularly impressed with the food and standard of service in the restaurant. pampering,relaxing,feel refreshed The staff were very friendly and professional and made you feel comfortable and relaxed. Service and the treatments were excellent, full body massage and full facial made you feel pampered, there was no urgency, the staff took their time which helped with being relaxed all day. The food was 5 star and you could have refreshments as you wanted them. Manicure and pedicure finished off the pamper day and my nails were perfect. Robe and slippers provided so you could laze about the pool or have a sauna or use the steam room or gym, no Jacuzzi/ spa bath at this location. Treatments good, venue average The facilities in general were not too impressive, the pool was fine but the treatment rooms being situated just off the pool area were a little noisy. The relaxation area was also very small .The staff were polite and helpful but, whilst I was offered a complimentary robe on arrival, I was not offered complimentary slippers (as I have been at other spas). Luckily I\'d taken my own! My hour long massage whilst excellent and extremely enjoyable was actually more like a 50 minute massage as we started late. The facial was standard but very good. However, both the manicure and pedicure amounted to little more than what I\'d term a file & polish. Needs money spending on it Although the general standard of the staff and service were good the general conditions and ambiance of the spa were disappointing. The changing rooms were grubby and in need of refurbishment. The facilities are open to both other hotel guests and to the public so the pool and jacuzi have to be shared with passing trade. The relaxation area was tatty chairs beside the pool with no real ambiance or proper opportunity for relaxation, in fact we asked for the treatments to be delivered quickly so that we didn't have to hang around in this grotty area for too long. I will not go back to Bridgewood Manor although it is by far the closest option a similar day at Brandshatch which was in an entirely different league. If I hadn't had far better experiences in other spas I probably wouldn't consider another spa day. The treatments were of the usual kind and were well administered by the beauticians - they were the saving grace of the day.
