Oasis between Xmas and New Year! Barcelo Combe Grove Manor was a delight. The swimming pool was clean and larger than usual for a hotel pool. My teenage daughter and I especially enjoyed the novelty of the hydrospa and ice fountain, and were impressed with the high standard of treatments we received. My massage in particular was excellent, the perfect balance of strength and subtlety. Our room was spacious with comfortable beds and lovely views. The bathroom could have benefited from a lick of paint, but since we spent so much time at the pool, this was not an issue. The highlight of our stay was, however, the delightful dinner: a fabulous feast with an interesting and varied menu, excellent service, friendly yet discreet. I\'ve seen from other reviews that some people had complaints about the slight shabbiness of the hotel, or haphazard service, but we found it charming. |

Relaxing good value day Lovely facilities, enjoyable lunch and good quality treatments. Stunning setting, we\'re tempted to go back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor facilities and the view. The only quirk of this venue, which we were aware of and happy with, is that the spa facilities, treatment rooms and bar/ restaurant are all in separate buildings. But as they are literally next door to each other and the day was organised so we didn\'t need to be constantly going back and forth between them, this didn\'t cause a problem at all. We loved the Jacuzzi beds beside the pool, not something we\'ve ever come across before but very, very good. |

chill out in bath It was a beautiful morning when we drove through the magnificent grounds of Combe Grove Manor. However our welcome was rather underwhelming. Having driven for an hour we wanted to start with a coffee and we were told where we could buy one. Even my garage gives me a complementary coffee. Also the staff seemed unsure of what our inclusive lunch consisted of. No tour was given of the facilities and the gym was very self-service. The pool and steam room were good. We finished the morning feeling satisfied but no more. However that soon changed. Lunch was magnificent with an excellent salad served with a flute of champagne served on the lawned terrace. Strawberries and cream and coffee followed. It got better. Our respective spa treatments were extremely well done and we finished the afternoon completely relaxed. A final relaxing drink and we headed home happy. Would we go back? Probably. |

pamper day Friendly welcome treatment areas very clean and airy Pool good size jacuzzi a little violent but very warm. unfortunately no water available in this area as water machine not working, a long walk to get a drink.Lunch was very good although service a little slow.Overall a lovely day was had by the whole party and everyone enjoyed their treatments.Would recommend for a hen pamper day. |

Quite nice little spa When we found the spa (put the postcode into satnav and it takes you to the disused back entrance) we were quite surprised at how small it was but this did mean that it was nice and quiet and peaceful.The receptionist was ok but hard to understand, I had to ask him to repeat himself several times which isn't the best start to a relaxing break.Our room was spacious with a nice balcony and a good sized bathroom. Unfortunately it hadn't been cleaned very well as we found a suit, hat and scarf left by the previous occupant and a few used tissues in the bin.The treatments we received were excellent however and we could have stayed there all day! The other spa facilities were limited. The steamroom was not in use, there's no sauna or jacuzzi. The pool was nice and warm though and there were jacuzzi beds which are novel.The evening meal was excellent, slow service but worth the wait. |

Beautiful location excellent treatment The place is beautiful with stunning views. The facilities were very good and the treatments were excellent, as was the service My only criticism was that it was quite difficult to find and my sat nav did not get me there using the postcode from the website. When I phoned the Hotel because I could not find it I was given a different post code to try which did get me to the right place. |
