Barcelo Buxton Palace Hotel is well established - it was designed by Henry Currey, architect to the Duke of Devonshire, and has been around since 1868.

This salon also boasts a unique Buddha themed relaxation area. The Leisure Club is split into three gym areas; the main gym offers a selection of both resistance & cardio machines. A free weight area and also a Quiet Gym. delightful day! The staff were extremely polite, helpful and professional. They really made me; mum and sister feel at ease for our first spa experience. The treatments were great (manicure and head, neck and back massage) however the pedicure was really just toes painted. If I book a pedicure at my local salon I get more than just my toes painted so a little disappointed there! The lunch was a small sandwich with a piece of lettuce on the side and the bar flies were very annoying in addition to the fact that we were limited to where we were allowed to sit (we were told that most of the eating areas were unavailable at the lunch time period!) however the actual spa treatments were wonderful and we had a lovely time all thanks to the spa staff!!! |

great salon staff The swimming pool, spa facilities, changing room and decor sadly let down our spa day experience. It was lacking the luxury and relaxed atmosphere. The lunch was satisfactory but the surroundings, whilst being very grand, were impractical as we ate from sofas at a coffee table. However, it was not all bad.... the treatments and beauty salon staff were incredibly professional and polite. The treatments were excellent and after the two hours, we felt truly pampered. The staff at the salon are the saving grace for this pamper day. I shall not book the pamper day again; however I shall be returning for further treatments at the beauty salon for treatments. |

very relaxing experience The hotel staff were very attentive and pleasant. The treatments were lovely but you didn\'t get the full half an hour per treatment that was stated, it was still an enjoyable experience though. I would definitely go back to the Buxton Palace hotel. |

MOTHER&DAUGHTER-PAMPERING-DAY I was very disappointed with the Spa day at Buxton. My daughter is over from Australia and I really wanted to spend some quality time with her in warm pleasant surroundings. The hotel is very old-fashioned and there wasn't a lunch in the package which I expected for the price. We could have spent less money and go to a top Hair salon and got the works. The staff were very efficient, and friendly - excellent but for £200.00 it was poor value. The area where we sat to dry our nails was a thorough-fair for staff and MEN! Te baths were old-fashioned and too small (and NO jacuzzi!) We couldn't swim because there were too many people in the pool. I won't recommend it. Sorry because my therapist was lovely but there you have it. I recommend you include lunch, however the reception lounge area was freezing cold so I don't think it would have been enjoyable really! |
