relaxing, quiet day Was more geared as being a hotel I felt, rather than offering lots of treatments to public and so had few beauticians. Very atmospheric and relaxing, loved the glass top to the pool. very quiet (maybe just the day we went) but wouldn\'t have wanted it too busy as felt there wasn\'t a great amount of space for lots of people. Felt slightly unprepared as to what the itinerary/lay out was for the day but had a lovely time. |

could have been better We were booked for the 6th February but got moved to 13th February due to staff sickness which ruined my birthday surprise for my boyfriend. When we were due to attend 13th February we were notified that a member of staff had left so the lovers day package I paid for where me and my partner was to spend the day and treatments together got changed to separate times. The lady who looked after us was very good but it was disappointing that I was not able to get the quality time I wanted to spend with my boyfriend. Also I feel the gym could have been better, paying £100 each some of the equipment were very warn and you could not even watch the TV as the reception was poor and it was in black and white. The staff were very polite and helpful and the lunch was enjoyable. We had a good day but it would have been better if I got the day that I paid for. I will not be recommending to friends or family |

Loved every minute! From the moment we arrived at the hotel for our \'treat me\' spa day, staff were ready to greet us and show us around, explain the day. The whole experience was completely relaxing, the treatments were fantastic and the relaxation room was just lovely! Lunch was served at a time to suit us and was of a very good quality, and I would recommend this day to anyone! I cannot wait to go again, this was my first experience of a spa day, and I would quite content to stick to this hotel time and time again as the day was so amazing! |

Reasonable I quite enjoyed the experience, the staff were friendly and the facilities clean. I enjoyed the massage although thought the three treatments (massage, facial and manicure) within an hour and a half was a bit rushed. The relaxing room was just that and with the sun coming through the big windows, it made it warm and peaceful. Good pool too. |

Wonderful relaxing day! Chose Barcelo Basingstoke Hotel because everything else was booked. Beautiful Victorian building, the swimming pool is in a kind of glass atrium, really lovely. However, it\'s old. We arrived and weren\'t really sure where to go. So went to the gym where the staff member didn\'t check anything, just took our word on the booking. The women’s changing rooms are quite a distance from the gym etc - you need to walk past the swimming pool to get to and from the ladies changing rooms and the tiled floor was sinking in places where it appears to need replacing. The gym staff were the staff looking after us, and they were very attentive, frequently asking us if we were ok and whether we needed anything. We were given towelling robes a couple of hours after we had arrived. But that was a nice surprise considering we did not think we would get robes at all. Lunch was amazing, absolutely delicious! |

Excellent deal I booked a spa weekend for six of us. It was an excellent deal - £149.50 which included two nights B & B, dinner on both evenings, lunch on the Saturday, two spa treatments, use of robe and slippers included and champagne and chocolates. As we had three rooms we had three bottles of champagne and three boxes of chocolates!!! The food was excellent. The staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant. The hotel itself was very nice and in a lovely setting. We went for local country walks through woods, going straight off from the hotel. The spa part of the hotel had a relaxation room which was kept constantly supplied with free tea and coffee and water - lovely facility. The staff were very helpful and the treatments very good, even though they were just the basic treatments included in the package. One of our groups booked for an all over massage and was very satisfied. |

very relaxing This was my first experience at a spa day, I was nervous when I got there, but I was soon made to feel relaxed. The staff showed me round and explained everything to me; this made me feel more relaxed. I enjoyed the day. The treatments I had were very relaxing, I started with a full body massage followed by a facial and ended with file and polish. |
