Great service, Great Price We visited the Bannatynes Spa in Darlington on the 9th December for my birthday, and what a birthday it was! We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who gave us our robes and slippers (£2 charge), and wished us a great day. The facilities here were more than we could have asked for, given the price we paid- £65 for 2 people. We also had a 40 minute back, neck and shoulder massage which to be honest was absolute heaven! We also chose to eat here, which before seeing the prices we thought would be expensive, but it was surprisingly cheap and really good. I would 100% recommend you go to Bannatynes in Darlington, it was a great, relaxing experience and would definitely do it again. |

not a true spa This venue should be advertised as a gym with spa facilities. Having lunch in our robes in a normal gym cafe was not exactly relaxing as we were the centre of attention. Saying that the staff could not do enough for us. We had not taken towels or toileteries as any spa I have previously visited provided these as standard. As I say the staff were great. They found us some free samples of shampoo and a towel each. Being the person I am I found the situation funny, but I have paid the same price and had a \'full spa experience\'. |

Poor value for money but enjoyable Having previous experience of \'\'Spa\'\'days this was a disappointment. My son bought me the day as a Christmas present. The staff were excellent, the treatment fine ( 1 hour) and the facilities were excellent (had to pay extra for a towel to use by pool !!!!!!) However as a present it may seem churlish, but £130 for app £40 worth of treatment and a swim. I did expect more. |

2 for1 Spa Only had one slight problem and that was the voucher I printed was not sufficient for the booking when taken to reception at the spa but the manager was fantastic and we got one by email via my phone and she took the details from there and emailed herself a copy so meaning that our booking went ahead with out any further delay and it was all fantastic and cannot wait to do it all again |

Small and friendly The staff were lovely and couldn\'t have been more helpful, having said that we bumped into Duncan B himself twice during the day so perhaps they were on best behaviour! The spa was small but well equipped, the therapists we had were excellent. The pool area was less impressive - the Jacuzzi bath didn\'t smell clean and the wind whistled in through the fire exit but didn\'t spoil our day. |

sublime relaxation From entering the spa and enquiring about the treatment, reception staff were friendly they showed us personally where we needed to be for our appointment as we were early we went to the cafe for tea. The prices for tea and food were very reasonable and the tea for two was more than we could get through in the short time prior to our appointment when we went through for our treatment again the staff were very attentive and informative. The room was dimmed with relaxing music, we were given time to get ready in private and the massage seemed to be over all too quickly. If possible would recommend a back massage at least once a week. It was the first time I had had a massage and I certainly recommended it to my friends one of which is now considering it as a Christmas present for her daughter |
