Great treatments and good food We had a relaxing day of rest and pampering, the highlight of which was the treatments, which were excellent. However the pool and communal changing area were more like a health club than a spa and it was a bit of a bother having to get dressed again for lunch in the main hotel, only to put the robe on again for the afternoon. |

Very enjoyable I had a great day, staff were helpful, although I was given no information at all on the other available facilities (gym, Pilates, tai chi etc) on arrival, therefore missed the opportunity to use them, even though they were included in the price. The treatments I had were excellent, I found the staff in this area very helpful, and would definitely return for further treatments. |

A break from the kids ! What a wonderful setting to arrive at on a Friday morning! The Hotel and grounds look very impressive as you pull up at the end of your drive through the sleepy Yorkshire countryside. The spa was busy and on a couple of occasions, there were no staff available to answer my questions (where do I go, what do I wear etc.), so the terrified girl who was obviously just filling-in, tried her best. However, I soon found my round the pleasant and well-equipped gym and was appropriately tired-out when the time came for my treatments: a back and scalp massage. These were good, but not quite as relaxing as I had hoped - mostly because it all felt a little rushed and that I was just the next punter in a busy production line... The rest of my stay was great; the room was huge and very comfortable and the food (and wine) in the restaurant was excellent. A good break away from the kids! |
