The Verbena Spa in Helmsley, North Yorkshire has been treating its guests to culinary delights since its opening at the Feversham Arms Hotel in October. As well as offering a full range of Elemis tratments and products, the spa has been serving food with a difference. The Spa-tisserie and Spa Tapas on offer has proved very popular among guests, offering lighter one course lunches, to indulgent afternoon tea complete with sandwiches, home made scones and a pattisserie selection. The Spa Tapas includes Orange and feta cous cous, figs wrapped in parma ham, mussels in fennel & coriander, crab arranchini, crushed potato with lemon zest and green olives, enabling friends to share whilst relaxing in the cosy lounge. There is also a specials menu which is changed daily, offering light dishes such as Poached salmon, orange cous-cous, feta cheese, orange vinaigrette.
At the other end of the spectrum are the indulgent options such as home made chocolate chip cookies, full afternoon tea and fruit scones with crème fraiche and strawberry jam. All of the food is prepared fresh by the hotel restaurants head chef and his team, using locally sourced natural ingredients and produce.
The spa offers complementary Verbena iced tea, as well as an extensive range of herbal teas, coffee, soft drinks, and smoothie of the day. Also available for the more indulgent, is a selection of wines, beers and champagne. As well as a diverse selection, the Verbena Spas food and drink offers various health benefits, from teas to boost your immune system, to garlic which is considered to be natures own antibiotic.
Hotel Owner, Simon Rhatigan, said: “A lot of careful thought has gone into our spa menu. We wanted to offer something different and cater for all of our guests by creating healthy options as well as the downright indulgent. So many spas offer generic menus and count calories rather than thinking of indulgence and pampering when creating their menus – we wanted to do something different.” Get more information about spabreaks at Feversham Arms by calling Spaseekers on 0845 555 8 555.
