We arrived at the Solent Hotel Spa, were greeted well, but they did not know what package we were under, only had a name. I had to explain how much we paid and what treatments etc we got with this! The Spa had also not been told that my friend had phoned the day before ref. treatments that she had altered. I explained that it was our first time, we were taken to the lockers but we did not get a tour of the Spa area and had to work out where showers/facilities & restaurant were. We used the facilities; swimming pool, whirlpool and sauna which were lovely and were told that our lunch would be at 12.30pm. There was a delay and we received our lunch at around 1pm. They gave us complimentary drinks as an apology. This meant that when we had our massages it was literary just after eating and was a rather uncomfortable! The girls doing the treatments were efficient and professional and we all enjoyed the treatments, but it was spoilt by the lack of organisation.
Had a wonderful day with my daughter, facilities very good, staff very pleasant and treatments were lovely. Very good lunch which we were not expecting. We are planning to make our girlie day a regular occasion and will be back.
I was really impressed with this spa hotel. We got the 2 day pamper package which was good value for money. The treatments included were good, although my sister thought the woman who did her body scrub and facial was very heavy handed. I should mention that although two of the treatments were meant to last 20-25 minutes they were much shorter than this - perhaps around 10 minutes. Our bedroom was nice and we had dressing gowns and slippers provided which we felt comfortable wearing from our room to the spa. The food in the restaurant was lovely, but the staff there seem very poorly trained. I had a hot plate of pasta dropped on me (without enough apology IMO), we saw a waiter break a plate, and a further two waitresses had no more knowledge than we did about the food or the wines available on the menu. Overall though the atmosphere in the hotel is very relaxing and the staff are friendly, plus the rooms are very clean and the facilities are very good.
From start to finish, we were impressed with the venue, staff and facilities of the hotel. We were not rushed at all, the treatments were relaxing, and the seating area in the spa ideal to meet and swap experiences. The food in the evening and the morning was first class, we will definitely return.
We had a fabulous stay, the back massage was absolutely excellent, one of the best my daughter and I have had. The hotel was superb, good quality food and the rooms were warm and clean. We are already looking at finding another spa break.
