Top Spa Days in London

The Spa at St. Pancras

Whether you’re a country bumpkin or a city person, no one can argue that a day trip to London isn’t exciting. But it’s not always possible to stay longer than a few hours. Maybe you’ve got a family hankering for your swift return, a boss drumming their fingers for your PowerPoint presentation, or want to tail-end a stressful conference with a spa day or spa half-day to help you unwind.

Whatever your reasons, we’ve devised the perfect solution: Fabulous Spa Days for anyone shorter on time than most, or anyone wanting to celebrate a special occasion like a Hen spa party.

One thing London really can offer are quality spas within close proximity to a cornucopia of London attractions and delights, making it the ideal opportunity to mix business with pleasure. Not at the same time of course (hardly practical to be thumbing through a 100-page strategy file while sitting in the steam room). In our humble view, the carrot cake after the stick is probably more relaxing than vice versa.

Some spas have both style and substance and oh-boy, you won’t believe the views from the duplex level of this five-star hotel’s spa and leisure floors. It’s a cliché to say ‘seeing is believing’, but this handsome hotel is certainly blessed with an enviable location.

The Spa at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, Kings Cross, London, NW1 2AR

This awesome hotel houses an exotically multinational spa spanning treatments from Polynesia to Japan, Morocco to Brazil and beyond. We think it’s fitting for a spa built above an international station (home to the Eurostar) to have so many international influences.
As you loll about in the oblong relaxation pool with not a care in the universe, you’ll be surrounded by finely crafted Victorian tiles and mosaic archways paying a respectful nod to the building’s heritage.

Where is it?
Originally built by George Gilbert Scott, this vast property now comprises a majestic Marriott hotel and its Chambers apartments above, towering over North London’s King’s Cross St Pancras station. It was painstakingly converted in 2011 to preserve the building’s former décor ( gold-leaf ceilings, grand sweeping staircase), while delivering on mod-cons and comfort for hotel guests.

The pool has been built in the original building’s converted Steam Kitchen (reassuring to know it’s waterproof). The hotel also houses the exclusive Mayfair-based barbers and grooming specialist Gentleman’s Tonic, dontcha know.

Located in a grand-looking building halfway between Westminster Bridge and Lambeth Bridge, on the northern Embankment overlooking the lapping waters of the Thames waterfront. Less than a three minute walk from London’s Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, House of Lords and Big Ben! You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better location if you want to take in the tourist sites.
Up the road are the buzzy restaurants, shops and markets of Covent Garden, Theatre land district and Trafalgar Square and its famous National Gallery.

The Millbank riverfront happens to be home to MI5, the UK’s intelligence agency. You never know, you might be approached by a handsome spy wearing shades, but our advice is to gather intel of your own over a celeb magazine in the spa…
