Hi, in general everything went to plan, treatment was lovely. However when it came to the package the hotel did not seem to know everything that was included. We had to ask for the bottle of champagne and robes and we still have not received the £30pp ESPA vouchers which were included in the package. The description of the package made it seem like it was 2 treatments per person however it was only one. Overall it was lovely however Hotel should be made fully aware of what is included in the package. Thank you
The 25 minute treatments were wonderful and the girls doing them fantastic but our day was spoiled by the great lengths we had to go to to try and obtain a robe each which were included, we just didn't appreciate getting fobbed off with phoney excuses 3 times "Robes are in your room" which they weren't ,"We don't have any" - which they did as finally one worker went down and grabbed us two. pool facilities need updating look nothing like the pictures, restaurant and its staff are amazing
Massage was really good, better than a lot of other places. Facial was normal relaxing standard. Disappointed with gym, needs a refurbishment, smelt very sweaty as walked in, exercise bike seat was torn & kept wobbling when trying to use it. Lunch was really good quality, but the room could do with a lick of paint, the wood has had water damage at times, but doesn't effect quality of day. Swimming pool was cold, overheard a regular talking to staff member & would seem it has an intermittent problems regularly. Not quite what you would expect for a five star hotel, but for a pamper day, as a one off it was a lovely relaxing day. Would go again.
Went to the De Vere with my mum for a birthday treat overnight. We booked the package that gives a one hour treatment, 3 course dinner, overnight stay and breakfast. We arrived early and our room wasn't ready so we sat outside by the Carp pond for lunch and waited a while, when I went back and our room still wasn't ready, the lovely staff member at the desk decided she didn't want us to wait any longer so gave us a free upgrade to a superior room with lovely views of the docks. We enjoyed looking at the cruise liners coming and going. We used the pool/Jacuzzi and the gym. The set-up is a little strange in that the sauna/steam rooms are upstairs and the pool downstairs but was still lovely...we would have liked slippers and dressing gowns to be provided as the stairs are uncomfy on your feet!! The treatments really were very good, mum had a 60 min facial which included Indian Head Massage and shoulder massage, her skin looked amazing afterwards. I had the full-body massage which I didn't want to end, the only thing was the lady talked alot through it!! There is a very nice chill out area in the spa with fleecey blankets. The only thing at the end was we were asked for payment but we had already paid, once she had checked it was fine though. The 3 course meal was really nice, not alot of choice for vegetarians but the choices that were there were lovely...I urge you to have the lemon cheesecake, it was the best we have ever tasted!! The room was very comfy, nice bathroom, very clean. The breakfast was stunning. We would definitely recommend this spa break!! :-)
I booked the mother daughter spa day for my mum and I at this hotel and have to say the overall experience was really nice. A few things to point out though; When we arrived on the day we were told that the pool was closed so if we wanted to swim we would have to walk across the street to the holiday inn, this was ok for us because we weren't interested in swimming but Id advise checking if you are.The lunch included was very tasty, however we pre booked the meal for 12, giving us an hour to eat the two courses before our treatments, the food didn't arrive for around half an hour which in turn made us ten minutes late to the spa (there was no clock in the restaurant so we had no idea). As we were ten minutes late to arrive at the spa (which was only upstairs) we were told that we were only entitled to two of the three treatments that we had booked and had to choose on the spot which ones we wanted. After the hour (supposed) of treatments we decided on had concluded we pointed out that there was still twenty minutes before our allotted time had finished and asked to have the file and polish (which is not the manicure or pedicure advertised) and with sour faces the staff relented. On the whole I found the whole day great and were it not for these minor problems it would have been perfect. Would definitely recommend.
Wow. This is a spa hotel you won’t forget in a hurry, with a fabulous location and a really unusual and rather iconic style. Fitting with the nautical theme of Southampton, the stylish venue occupies a prime spot that overlooks the Southampton waterfront, and the inside doesn’t miss a trick with its meeting rooms all nautically themed too. The candlelit spa gives you oodles of relaxation opportunities and the rooms, if you happen to be staying for an overnight spa break, are all cosy and modern with a twist – some with gorgeous views across the harbour too.
The spa at the Grand harbour is well-equipped to make your day that little bit less stressful. There are four gorgeous treatment rooms awaiting you, plus a menu that's brimming with delights from such spa favourites as ESPA and Jessica. Whether it's a quick manicure or a full-on body treatment you've set your sights on, the Serenity Spa will cater for your every whim, and you're guaranteed to emerge from your comfy cocoon feeling like a new woman - or man, ready to snooze by the pool or steam gently in the steam room.
Head down to the gym and make the most of the top of the range cardio and resistance equipment if you want to indulge your inner gym bunny. If you're not sure what you should be doing and on what piece of equipment you should be doing it, don't worry, there are people there who can guide you in the right fitness direction. The swimming pool is another place to visit for a good workout, or just to lounge by!
Rejoice if your package includes food, as the cuisine here is to die for. Expect a delicious meal or tasty snack in the Hamtun Atrium Bar and Bistro, if your chosen spa deal doesn't include food, it's probably well worth paying and eating here anyway...
