About

Life’s better in a robe. So if the thought of some seriously cocooning self-care is calling you, it’s time to put yourselves in the hands of the experts at Champneys Springs. The UK's first purpose-built health spa, a day or stay here will take you on a holistic journey that’s a seamless blend of next-gen rituals, cutting-edge fitness experiences and the idyllic charm of country-style living, all rolled into one.

Squirrelled away in rural Leicestershire, you’ll start to relax as soon as you turn into its Instagrammable driveway. Springs’ 31 acres of picturesque parkland offer countryside views as far as the eye can see, while tranquil water walkways and natural ponds add to the serenity.

With a plethora of ways to invigorate or relax, you can be as chilled or as active as you choose. Dive into the 25m pool, unwind in the hydropool or whirlpool, or let the heat of the saunas and steam rooms work their magic. But Springs is also home to a state-of-the-art gym, a dance studio, spin studio, bicycle trails and two resort walks, so working up an appetite for your wholesome lunch is a breeze.

Sports fan? Test your golf technique at the putting green or play a friendly game of doubles on the tennis courts. You could even go for a kick-about! A mecca for national and club teams looking to combine their training with a little R and R, Champneys Springs even has its own full-sized UEFA pitch complete with a goalkeeper warm-up area.

Yet, at the spa's heart lies its extensive menu of pampering rituals, treats that promise rejuvenation from top to toe. The 56 zen-like treatment rooms ensure a vast selection of therapies, from traditional to innovative, all aimed at enhancing your well-being.

If you do decide to leave the comfort of your robe, intriguing day trip options abound. Springs is just a ten-minute drive from Ashby-de-la-Zouch, a gorgeous town with open-air markets and fantastic independent shops. Adrenaline junkies can whizz around Daytona Tamworth - just 11 miles from Champneys Springs it’s one of the finest karting tracks in Britain - while history buffs can learn about the Battle of Bosworth at the nearby Battlefield Heritage Centre.

But when you’re tired of shopping and sightseeing, rest assured that a sumptuous sanctuary awaits you. Like a home away from home, there are 79 sumptuous bedrooms to ensure a good night’s sleep, whenever you’re ready to drift off to bed.

The Spa & Wellness at Champneys Springs Spa Resort

Put your phone down and your robe on. Regardless of how hectic the outside world has become, your to-do list will feel very far away at Champneys Springs. This sanctuary of opulence provides the perfect setting for some head to toe rejuvenation.

Immerse yourself in the tranquil waters of the 25m swimming pool. An inviting space for leisurely dips or an invigorating aqua class, you’re also free to just lounge beside it, curled up on a daybed with a good book in hand.

Experience the therapeutic effects of the hydro pool, drift between the toasty warmth of the sauna and the steam room, then relax in the Jacuzzi. On this spa day, it’s up to you.

It would, however, be a crime to leave this palace of pampering without indulging in a bit of what Champneys do best. When it comes to body-soothing, age-defying rituals, this brand literally wrote the book. Forget cucumber slices. Here, traditional methods combine with cutting-edge wellness innovations, ensuring spa experiences that really get results.

Take Champneys Jade Contouring Facial, for example. This exquisite treatment uses the sculpting power of Jade Gua Sha to define your facial contours, while cooling jade stones refresh the eye area. You’ll float out feeling like you’ve aged backwards!

The Gym & Fitness at Champneys Springs Spa Resort

Looking for a little extra motivation on your fitness journey? The workout facilities at Champneys Spring will help you lengthen, strengthen and tone in style. In fact the philosophy here is to give you the tools you need to keep in shape and to lead a healthy lifestyle when you get back home.

As such you’ll find an incredible number of ways to get the endorphins flowing. With a cutting-edge gym plus a smorgasbord of up to 20 incredible classes to pick from daily, gym bunnies will find it hard to choose what to do first!

Newly refurbished, the swish gym rivals any that you’ve ever been to before, boasting cardio and weight training equipment and approachable instructors to help you get the most out of your workout. The brand-new (and buzzing) spin and dance studios rock to the sound of Champ Spin, Champ Box and Body Blitz, or you can find your zen in a soulful yoga class.

But why stay indoors? Take part in a gratitude walk around the grounds, or gossip with a bestie on an instructor-led power walk. Plus, with bikes and tennis courts begging to be used, your stay will be less about lounging in luxury and more about moving about in it!

Restaurants & Food at Champneys Springs Spa Resort

Champneys’ commitment to wellness extends to its food, so expect nutritious and delicious fare, with a side order of indulgence.

In fact at Champneys Springs, eating is part of your delicious journey towards holistic wellness. Here, food isn't just something you eat. It's a central piece of the puzzle on your path to feeling fabulous in both body and soul.

Say goodbye to fad diets and hello to the joy of eating with gusto, albeit with a nod towards moderation. Here, the healthy choice is also the most tantalising one on the menu, and every dish comes with a good-sized helping of balance and well-being.

Meander into the spa restaurant for lunch, where the ambience is just as nourishing as the food. Here on your own? Taking a seat at the Champneys Table will introduce you to new friends, turning meal times into a social occasion with your fellow wellness seekers.

Alongside the restaurant, the spa café with garden views is your go-to for sipping on smoothies, juices, or that essential cup of coffee, accompanied by light bites. Forget guilt. Everything on offer at Champneys Springs will help you glow from the inside out, one delicious bite at a time.

SpaSeekers vs Champneys

SpaSeekers were brilliant, but making treatment bookings with Champneys was painful. The Aqua aerobics class was brilliant, as was the food, but we had several beefs about Champneys, the treatments were silly expensive and very short but good, there were not enough dustbins around and not nearly enough drinking fountains with proper cups, especially in the swimming area. As a married couple we would have liked to have shared the sauna, steam, rest rooms together, not possible as they are located in the male/female changing rooms. As ever the gym was too noisy making it impossible to hear my own podcasts.

A twist on tradition, you can enjoy a selection of traditional finger sandwiches, an array of sweet treats and herbal teas, as well as a glass of bubbly.

Is there a swimming pool at Champneys Springs?

There is! Water babies will be in heaven because floating, swimming and unwinding in bubbles are an integral part of the Champneys Springs experience. Immerse yourself in the 25m indoor heated swimming pool for some leisurely lengths or aqua class, then lay back and enjoy the hydropool, whirlpool and Jacuzzi to relax tired muscles.

Is there accommodation at Champneys Springs?

There sure is! There are 79 gorgeous bedrooms on offer and, just like the spa itself, every detail is designed to promote a feeling of peace and relaxation.

Standard rooms are a haven of simplicity and comfort, featuring garden views and either double or twin beds. Superior rooms are the next category up and boast balconies and cosy touches. Spacious Luxe rooms feature king-size beds and elegant decor, while top-of-the-range Suites feature separate lounge areas.

What time is check-in and check-out at Champneys Springs?

Spa days at Champneys Springs start at 9am and end at 6pm, but do check your booking confirmation for full details. For residential stays, check-in is from 3pm, and check out is by 11am, but some spa breaks allow you to carry on using the facilities after you’ve checked out of your room.

Is Champneys Springs accessible?

Yes it is. This purpose-built building has wide walkways and disabled parking, along with accessible bedrooms.

Is Champneys Springs a Champneys’ resort?

Yes it is. Champneys has four resorts - Tring, Forest Mere, Henlow and Springs. These are health spas with a laser focus on your health and wellbeing.

Its two luxury spa hotels, Eastwell Manor and Mottram Hall, feature all the mod cons you’d expect from a destination hotel (think elegant interiors, gourmet dining and afternoon tea) along with a Champneys spa.

Where is Champneys Springs located?

Champneys Springs is set in the scenic Leicestershire countryside, just outside the charming market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch. A little more than 30 minutes outside of Leicester, Nottingham and Birmingham, all three cities are just a short hop and each one is great for shopping or sight-seeing.

What should I bring for a Champneys spa day at Champneys Springs?

Very little, as you’ll be spending most of your day swanning around in your complimentary towelling robe and flip-flops! You’ll obviously need swimwear to wear in the pool and thermal facilities. But it's a good idea to bring some spare swimwear or dry underwear to keep you feeling comfortable when you go for lunch, or if you’re planning on booking into a treatment.

You’ll also need activewear and trainers if you’re going to use the gym or have a class, and a spare pair for outdoors if you fancy a stroll around the grounds. And, if you’re thinking about staying for dinner, you’ll need something smart/casual to wear. Just remember to reserve your table in advance.

Do I get to keep the flip flops provided at Champneys Springs?

Yes you do! Flip flops are provided to all guests and are yours to keep. They’re also anti-slip tested so they’re perfect for the spa and poolside.

Who owns Champneys Springs?

It’s part of the destination spa group Champneys, which is owned by the Purdew family. Founded on the philosophy that health, beauty and wellbeing are inextricably intertwined, its pioneering concepts continue to inspire to this day.

Is alcohol available at Champneys Springs?

Yes it is. The Champneys brand is all about moderation, so you will find alcohol on offer here.

Is Champneys Springs family-friendly?

Sorry, it’s not. Champneys Springs is an adult-only destination, for those over the age of 16.

Is Champneys Springs pet-friendly?

Sorry! No pampered pooches allowed, only guide dogs and hearing dogs.

Does Champneys Springs have a golf course?

Perfect for sports lovers, Champneys Springs has its own putting green where you can practise your shots, or there’s tennis courts, bike hire and football available on the full-sized pitch. Can’t live without a full round of 18 holes? Willesley Park Golf Club is a five minute drive away and they welcome visitors to pay and play.
